Mission Statement

  • Inspiring and preparing all students for learning, leadership, and life.

  • Hartselle High School will establish itself as a premier Alabama high school by leading the way on local, state, and national levels academically, artistically, and athletically.

  • Hartselle High School is not just raising the standard; we are the standard.

  • Hartselle High School is a fully accredited 9th through 12th grade high school located in the heart of the Morgan County, Alabama. Previously, Hartselle High School was known as Morgan County High School.

Hartselle High is pleased to offer a wide range of academic, athletic, and social opportunities to our students.  We have an extensive advanced placement and dual-enrollment program that provides our students the opportunity to do college-level work and earn college credit while still in high school.  The school also provides an exceptional performing arts department allowing students to participate in voice, musical instruments, visual arts, and drama. We also offer career academy clusters that are business- and industry-certified and prepare students for college programs and careers.  The strongest testimony to the success of our students lies in the fact that the vast majority pursue a post-secondary education. Our graduates are well prepared to succeed in college and future careers.  In 2014, Hartselle was named a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, and this status was renewed in 2018. Additionally, in 2025, we received the AP Honor Roll Silver Status.

Second only to our strong academic curriculum are the athletic opportunities afforded to our students. Hartselle High School has a long tradition of excellence on the playing surface -- winning numerous state championships in our thirty-six years, including recent championships in men's golf in 2015, softball in 2014 and 2018, baseball in 2009 and 2013, volleyball in 2012, women's golf in 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012, and football in 2011.  Most importantly, our students are taught to win or lose with dignity, character, and pride.

The opportunities for our students to grow socially come from a wide array of activities and clubs available to those who wish to participate. Service and social clubs actively promote community involvement and volunteerism among our students.  Events such as homecoming, the junior-senior prom, and many others allow our faculty and students to work together outside of the classroom.  Many of the best and most memorable lessons in school and life come from these social interactions.

If you have already chosen to locate in our community, we welcome you and look forward to our work together.  If you are visiting our area, we would like to extend an invitation to you, on behalf of the students, faculty, and staff of the Hartselle High School family, to tour our campus.  Should you be moving to our area with teenage children, you will find in Hartselle High School a positive atmosphere where our students feel a sense of belonging. We take great pride in our school, students, staff, and community.
