From a very young age, I was inspired by my 6th grade math teacher, Mrs. Pam Berry, who made learning an adventure, driving my lifelong mission to make that same meaningful difference for my own students. As a proud product of Hartselle City Schools and a 1997 graduate of Hartselle High School, I can say this community shaped who I am today. I began my career teaching math at Hartselle Junior High, using creative, visual, and hands-on lessons to ensure every student found the confidence to succeed.
Driven by a commitment to continuous growth and inspired by mentors such as Mr. Don Pouncey, I earned my doctorate and transitioned into school leadership. I served first as an assistant principal at Austin Junior High and then as the Principal of Hartselle Intermediate School. These foundational roles allowed me to grow as an administrator and deeply understand the diverse needs of students and staff alike.
Today, I am incredibly proud to serve as the Principal of Hartselle High School. Returning to lead my alma mater is the honor of a lifetime, and I strive every day to guide our school community with the same empathy and innovation that defined my classroom, ensuring HHS remains a place where "We don't just raise the standard...we are the standard!"
